Celebrating Halloween at Las Casitas

  |     |   Apartment Living

Autumn is in the air at Las Casitas and pumpkin-spiced goods have been on store shelves. The leaves are beginning to turn into beautiful colors of gold and crimson, and it is the spookiest time of the year – Halloween!

Did you know that Halloween is the third most favorite holiday in the U.S.? Adults and children alike look forward to celebrating by decorating indoors and out, as well as deciding on costumes, and what to eat and drink.

How to Decorate Your Apartment

Etsy is a great place to find wonderful decorations (and often you'll be supporting an artisan). A quick look showed adorable mantel displays, various lights, doorway corner signs, scented velvet gourd pillows, as well as many different wall decorations (just be sure to use something like reusable mounting dots so you don't mar your walls). Etsy also features a wonderful selection of outdoor decorations that will make your neighbors smile–or shriek in horror.

How to Celebrate at Home

Get dressed up (what a great year to wear a mask!) and play some of these games with your family while listening to spooky Halloween songs. Afterward, rent one of the top 30 classic scary movies – or make up your own scary ghost stories to tell each other!

Halloween Hotspots Near You

Are you ready to start carving your pumpkins? If so, take the very short drive to Seasonal Adventures Pumpkin Patch on Avenal Street. Sadly, a lot of the traditional haunted houses are not opening this year, but if you drive into Los Angeles, there's a great haunting experience to be had on "The Hayride." It will take you on a thrilling adventure in the foothills of Midnight Falls where you'll encounter a strange portal that has let loose hideous creatures who will scare the bejesus out of you.

While this Halloween might be different from last year's, at Las Casitas you'll be surrounded by happy dwellers looking to spice up All Hallow's Eve with eerie decorations, games, and community "spirits." Happy Halloween and stay safe!
